Review

Every poet has a way with words, whether rhythming or just a magical flow of words into our hearts. At first the poems came at me a bit depressing, like the author wasn’t in the best part of her life, but come on, who has an entire life of rainbows and no rainstorms?

The more I read the more I enjoyed; I’m very glad I didn’t stop at the not so happy parts; some poems were a bit spiritual. Flower Despair Song makes you want to cry. I for one would love to know the story behind this poem. Please take my sincere apology at your loss.

My favorite is Fallen Galaxy, this one strikes me on a personal level, reminds me of someone I miss so very much. The author’s line “A kiss to the sky” is one that will stay in my mind and heart for a very long time. Thank you so much for sharing with me!

I give this collection of poems four pots of gold out of five.

Genre: Children’s Books

These delightful tales are sure to help your little ones settle down and drift contentedly off to sleep. Written by a grandfather for his own kids and grandchildren, these eighteen entertaining stories feature lots of talking animals, including a kangaroo who teaches a pony how to jump, a little bear who wants to play baseball, a coyote who learns to fly, a magic balloon that takes a little girl all the way to Japan and back, and some resourceful ants who build a swimming pool so they can play as well as work. It’s full of positive images and plots that inspire creative solutions to various challenges. A lovely read-aloud adventure the whole family will enjoy!

Author Bio

I didn’t begin my career as an author by writing stories. First, I was a storyteller. Let me explain. Many years ago, when our children were very young, I would sit on their beds at bedtime and tell them a story. Instead of reading a story written by someone else, I preferred to make up my own story right on the spot. They were stories about animals who learned to fly, children who talked to birds, alligators who were friends with elephants, and even one about a horse that learned to jump like a kangaroo. Our children loved them. So I made up lot of stories. Then there was a long period of time when there was no one who wanted to listen to my stories because they had all grown up!

But then, something wonderful happened. We had our first grandchild—and I became Grandpa Bernie. One day, one of my daughters said, “Dad, you have so many stories. I think other children would like to hear them.” That’s when I became an author.

At the age of 93, I am still playing tennis (doubles only) five times a week in a 60+ league. I have been married 64 years to my wonderful wife, Faigie, had three children, and five grandchildren. I continue to sit in my favorite chair, with a large pad on my lap, and a pen in my hand, lean back, and let my imagination soar.

Review

So Grandpa Bernie wrote some stories, they were first given to his children then to his grandchildren. I was thinking this should be like every other bedtime story, overly told and just tweeked just enough to be different. I WAS WRONG!! Grandpa Bernie you are amazing, I laughed and enjoyed your stories and so did my little boys. There was one story that really touched my heart, I stand before all of you at four feet nine inches tall; so take a wild guess at which story really got to me! It's Not So Bad to be Me, I loved this story so much!!! I give this book Five Pots of Gold out of Five!

Review:

I have been reading this book for a month, and normally I am finished in maybe a couple days but I have been busy with homework for my work and then my computer crashed. I swear Murphy's Law was beyond being mean when it came to my past month. So that being said I apology for my late entery to the Author, to Enchanted Book Promotions, and to my readers.

Now for that review!

As I have said I have been reading this book and I am three chapters to the end! I'm not finished so do NOT tell me how it ends; I have been sucked into this world! It is like a coming of age cross with finding the world upside down. This journey has been long, sometimes I am sure never ending to our Mercy. You read this and automatically you think of someone you know that sounds like this character, and this is why I love this book. I am such a book nerd and I'm ready to end this book only to move on to another with this character Mercy.

I give four pots of gold out of five! ( A little luck of the Irish for you )

About the Book

Title: Rat Tuesday

Author: Adrienne Quintana

Illustrator: Shalece Fiack

When the neighborhood rat children meet at the park to play, they attempt a science experiment and disaster ensues.

Review:

I have a seven year old son who is really starting to love books, I saw this book and thought this would be a great start for him. It's a beginning book, gives some bigger than normal words that they would use; but that makes me happy because it helps his vocabulary! I enjoyed this book very much, my son laughed and was really curious on what this experiement would be. I'd recommend this book and I'd also recommend you try the experiement with your kids so they can also be more involved in the book. My son kept asking on each page, what is that for (all the different parts needed) I loved seeing his face at the end. Great job to the author and illustrator; you won over a hard little reader in my house!
