I'm going to answer one question on the days that I do not have tour stop.
What did I edit out of this book?
I always write up a few different versions of a certain situation, so there is a part of this book that could turn things completely differently.
In Duchess Baylee has been told that she is going to marry her uncle, so the whole time she thinks she is being held until a wedding to her uncle or to someone he chose. I went another way to him guiding her about the half-breed elf/leprechauns. So what was taken out of this book was a huge wedding; and before you scream oh no not her uncle, it was to one of his minions. Not to say this person was not good or bad, but I had this thought about if Baylee knew she was different, that to be her one person she was part of two different cultures, maybe she would understand how important she was.
We have so many people out there right now talking such and such lives matter; when in truth EVERY LIFE MATTERS. Just because you are different doesn't make you wrong or bad, it makes you so special. Right now there are such wonderful people out there that are put down because they are different. I want everyone to celebrate how different they are, not a single person is the same; no matter the same skin tones. Just because you can't tell what color an elf or a leprechaun is, does it matter if you know what they are if they are doing good things in the world?
Baylee sees in the village how special those half-breed people are, how their abilities were magnified, how they did such wonderful, extraordinary abilities. Why be like everyone else when you could be amazing just being yourself? Every person out there right now is perfect, not a single person can ever be just like you, no one can look like you, act like you or THINK like you. This is the amazing part, people think of rare gems how each one is different, each one has a different worth. Imperfections are not worth so much but if you think about it, those imperfections are what makes them so rare! You need to celebrate your imperfections, you're the only person in the world who is YOU.
I took out the wedding because I thought Baylee would see how wonderful she really is and how special those people are. They need a leader and she is the perfect person for the job.
