What did you do with your first advance?

First advance? Do you get one of those as a self-publishing author?

That is my funny way of saying a self-publishing author do not get an advance. I did however spend my first $ 2.00 on stuff for my books, notebooks and paper actually.

For my books, my royalty is actually like $2.00 for each book. Unless they are priced at $2.99 then I get like $0.37 a book. It doesn't pay much to be a writer, but to me sharing the story is worth it. I love sharing the book as free, I don't get any royalty but my book spreads it's way around the world to new readers. But if I ever got an advance on a book I would spend it on my little leprechauns.
